Executive Member Tour of Elizabeth Park

In appreciation of our club’s $2,500 donation to the Elizabeth Park Conservancy last spring in celebration of our 95th anniversary, Margaret Tilney (Conservancy Development & Project Advisor) has organized an exclusive tour just for West Hartford Garden Club members.

Event Details:

  • Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Tour Leader: Mark Gutzmer, Elizabeth Park Director of Gardens & Grounds
  • Meeting Location: The walkway between the greenhouses and the rose garden lawn

Mark will lead us on a walk-through to share insights into the grounds. The Helen S. Kaman Rose Garden is currently enjoying a fantastic second bloom, the perennial garden is vibrant, and late September should offer beautiful weather for a morning stroll together.

Mark plans to cover as many of the garden spaces as time allows, and he would love to know if our members have specific interests so he can tailor the tour accordingly.
