Greenhouse Bulb & Plant Sale

Join us for a one-day plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 in Elizabeth Park’s historic greenhouse.

Bulbs and plants may be purchased by CREDIT CARD or CHECK only. Visitors are asked to bring their own trays, boxes or carts to carry away their plant purchases.

The Spring Greenhouse Sale helps support Elizabeth Park Conservancy in its mission to maintain, restore and protect the gardens, grounds and buildings in Elizabeth Park.

Included in the floral display are French hyacinths, Muscari, tulips, daffodils, amaryllis, scented geraniums, pansies, trellised sweet peas, culinary herbs, hanging baskets, and Spanish oregano, as well as a collection of house plants and succulents.

CT COVID-19 Retail Practices Followed:
– A maximum of FIVE visitors are allowed in the greenhouse at one time.
– Masks are required at all times both inside and outside the greenhouse.
– Hand sanitizing upon entering the greenhouse.
– Maintain six feet of distance from other visitors.

Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Thank You Lecture (Zoom)

Connecticut’s Historic Gardens
with Laurie Masciandaro
of Historic New England’s Roseland Cottage

Laurie Masciandaro, Site Manager of Historic New England’s Roseland Cottage and past President of Connecticut’s Historic Gardens, will give a special virtual presentation on Connecticut’s Historic Gardens. This program is complimentary for members of The West Hartford Garden Club, Suffield Garden Club, and all of our other wonderful volunteers as a thank you for your support of Connecticut Landmarks’ historic gardens. The presentation will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, March 31st at 1 pm.

 

Connecticut is home to many beautiful and unique gardens. Fifteen historic sites dotted throughout the state have joined to form Connecticut’s Historic Gardens. These delightful places offer visitors an opportunity to explore a variety of garden styles and time periods. Laurie Masciandaro, a founding member Roseland Cottage, introduces you to the history and beauty of these fifteen distinctive historic sites and gardens that have charmed and inspired visitors for a century or more.

Federated Garden Clubs of CT 92nd Annual Meeting

Federated Garden Clubs of CT will hold its 92nd annual meeting – a Zoom Webinar – on Wednesday, April 14, at 10:00 am.  The meeting will commence with an extraordinary and inspiring presentation by world renowned and award-winning landscaping designer and acclaimed author, Julie Moir Messervy. Julie will present “The Designer’s Way: Creating Gardens (and Lives) of Beauty and Meaning.”  The meeting will conclude with the installation of new officers for Federated’s 2021-2023 term.

Everyone is invited. 

There is no charge to attend and no limit to the number of attendees. Registrations must be received no later than Monday, April 12.  Go to “Annual Meeting Registration Page” on  Federated’s website to register.
