Perennials, Vegetables, House Plants. Garden Shop, Planters and more.
For those who have the first shift on Saturday, originally scheduled for 8:30 am, but it will now be 8:00 am. So you are welcome to arrive anytime after 8 am and then be ready for our customers by 9:00 am.
The parking lot will be used for the tables and canopies.
Let’s keep the 2 + spaces for our customers.
The inside of the NWH will be open for us to cool off. There will be bottles of water and other goodies, it is advised to dress appropriately.
Steve Kovack, Matt Budaj and I plan to meet at Spice Bush Swamp Park to move mulch to our new garden site. If you are available to help, great! If you want to come and simply look at the sites, that’s fine too.
If you can bring a wheelbarrow and shovel, even better. Other tools that would help are rakes, string trimmers and clippers. Of course, wear gloves and other protective clothing (hats, bug spray, sunblock, goggles, … as needed).
The forecast is for a high of 77 and cloudy, so it should be a good day to be working outside.
Hope to see you there or at our Plant Sale at Noah Webster (9-3) on Saturday,
Please take the time to take a look at our garden sites at Spice Bush Swamp: both our current Pollinator Pathway Garden (near the parking lot, circled by brownstone rocks) and the new Bird and Pollinator Friendly Garden (over two foot bridges). If you see any weeds, feel free to pull them.
On Monday, May 30, 9 – 11 am, Madeleine plans to go to Spice Bush to plant. Please come join her if you can.
During the summer, she will keep the new garden cleared of invasives and water the new plantings and our Pollinator Garden. She has a two-week rotation planned. If you can spare an hour several times a week for two weeks to water, please let her know if you are willing to join the rotation.
She is planning to spend an hour or two in our Spice Bush Gardens on Monday mornings starting at 9 am (and possibly earlier as the temperatures rise, she will let you know). Beth Ann Sennett is also planning to garden there once a week. Any one is welcome to join us.
Meeting will be via Zoom if we cannot meet in person.

Rose Weekend Tours by Stephen Scanniello
Join Rosarian Stephen Scanniello for tours of the Helen S Kaman Rose Garden and the Heritage Rose Garden.
The Helen S Kaman Rose Garden is the oldest public rose garden in the United States and the third-largest Rose Garden in the country. The Heritage Rose Garden is Elizabeth Park’s garden of exceptionally old varieties of roses, some of which predate 1867.
No registration is required. The tours are FREE and begin at the flagpole outside the Cottage (the green building across from the Helen S Kaman Rose Garden).
Please help with the plantings for 4 pots and the center circle, as well as trimming and fertilizing the plantings in the back courtyard. Rain date is Wednesday at 10:00 am.
Many hands make light work–there is much to do–so please respond ASAP to Susan that you can help.
