Join us for the 3rd Annual Seed Library Kickoff! This event marks the start of the season for our popular Seed Library – a collaboration between the WHPL and The West Hartford Garden Club to expand community access to seeds and support gardeners of all skill levels. Join us to select free seeds for your garden, consult with Master Gardeners, and enter a raffle for a chance to win gardening supplies. Quantities are limited to three (3) packets per person.
Can’t make it to the event? No problem – the Seed Library will be accessible after the kickoff during library hours on the main floor of the Noah Webster Library.
Floral Design Committee will be conducting a teaching workshop (Principles of Horizontal Design) on March 13, 2025, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Noah Webster House.
The Floral Design Committee will provide ALL supplies, including the container, wet Oasis, tape, Quip Dip 100, and all plant material for each attendee. You will need to bring only your floral shears, strong scissors or a knife for prepping the plant material and, if you have one, a Lazy Susan (helpful when arranging centerpieces to be viewed from all sides).
If you are interested to participate, please, email Eva Jakuba at eva.jakuba@gmail.com. Note that attending this (Horizontal Design) and the Principles of Vertical Design workshops is a requirement for all members in the first two years of their membership. There are still a few seats available but act soon, we cannot accommodate more than 15 participants in total.
We priced the cost of all materials at $20 per attendee. Please bring CASH (exact change) to the workshop.
