50th Anniversary Golden Holiday Event
noon–5pm daily (closed Monday–Wednesday)
noon–7pm Thursday, December 12
Celebrate the season and support the Wadsworth during this major holiday fundraiser, our 50th annual Festival of Trees & Traditions, this year with a golden disco theme befitting our first festival in 1974! Donated items are for sale and profits support the museum’s special programs and operating expenses. Bring home the holiday cheer or donate your purchase to a local charity. A $5 fundraising surcharge is added to all museum admissions during Festival of Trees & Traditions.
Please bring pruners, scissors and garden gloves. You may also bring your own container.
We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to secure your place, as we can only accommodate 25 Club members at Green’s Workshop Sign-up Page. At the time of signing up, please mail your check of $35.00 (made out to the West Hartford Garden Club) to Tanya Guadalupe, 59 Kimberley Road, Newington, CT, 06111.

The West Hartford Garden Club, in collaboration with the West Hartford Public Library, is holding a Winter Sowing Workshop at the library on January 18, 2025 at 1 pm. Learn how to use the winter sowing method to grow your own native wildflowers and grasses in recycled containers. We provide seeds and soil but need you to bring a jug or two. This workshop will cover the benefits of this method of germinating seeds over indoor seed-starting, which requires grow lights and hardening-off of seedlings. We’ll send you home with a mini greenhouse made from an upcycled plastic jug filled with a planted seed selection. Proper aftercare will also be shared. Participants should bring their own transparent or translucent gallon jugs–clean milk or water jugs are perfect.
Please text, call, or email Beth Ann with any questions.
