Make a gorgeous holiday wreath to decorate your front door! Join us for the virtual workshop on Sunday, November 29th at 2 pm, or watch the recorded Zoom session at your convenience! Connecticut Landmarks’ Site Administrators will take you through making your evergreen wreath step-by-step, and share tips and tricks to make wreath making fun, fast, and easy from the comfort of your own home. Once you’ve picked up your wreath kit, put on some festive music to set the mood, grab a cup of hot chocolate, and get ready to create some holiday cheer. All of the necessary supplies to make an evergreen wreath with a decorative bow will be available for pick-up at one of our participating sites. Our wreath kit includes greens, a 12” wire wreath ring, wire, festive red bow, and written instructions. The Zoom link will be sent via email to all registered attendees as the workshop gets closer. In addition to the provided materials, we suggest you have a pair of gardening gloves and clippers on hand for a more comfortable crafting experience. If you wish to forage for pinecones, holly, and other natural materials from your yard or garden (or purchase additional decorations), we’ll teach you how to add them to your completed wreath. Once assembled, wreath dimensions will be approximately 24” in diameter. The cost is $45 per wreath kit, $35 for CTL Members. For best results, greens should be assembled by December 11th. Registration is required by Sunday, November 15th at https://ctl-wreath-making.eventbrite.com Select your pick-up time and location when placing your order. |

Please sign up for a Creative Underwater Floral and Light Arrangement Workshop on January 21!
Nothing is better in the depths of the gloom of the winter than arranging flowers! In that spirit, the Floral Design Committee will be holding a “Creative Underwater Floral and Light Arrangement” workshop. The session will focus on arranging materials underwater lit with an underwater tea light. We hope you can participate!
We will meet via Zoom on January 21, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We ask that you provide the flowers and/or greens, a clear glass vase and optional transparent stones, glass beads and/or a flower-arranging frog. The committee will provide you with a tea light, a list of suitable materials, places were you can still get flowers and arrangement instructions. There are many examples of submerged light floral designs on the internet to inspire you. During the Zoom session, there will be instructions, as well as time to create and share your arrangement. Attendance is free.
