Please join us at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford at an NGC Standard Flower Show “Spring into Connecticut” from February  20 – 23, 2020.

Are you ready for some Club competition?  Read the latest Press-Release to learn how.

Spring into Connecticut for the 39th annual Flower Show of the Federated Garden Clubs of CT., Inc (FGCCT) at the Convention Center in Hartford.  You’ll get that first taste of Spring that we all need in late winter as you enjoy more than 60 creative floral designs inspired by Connecticut’s Cityscapes, Orchards, Rivers and the Shoreline.  The talents of gardeners around the state will be evident in the more than 70 classes of horticulture, from cactus to orchids in bloom to early blooming branches of forsythia and quince.  Creative photographs and educational exhibits along with artistic crafts will showcase additional skills and interests of Connecticut’s gardeners.

Many awards in Design, Photography and Horticulture reward the hard work of the exhibitors, the result of over 30 accredited Flower Show judges assessing the exhibits.  Also, the public can vote for their favorite Floral Design, which will be awarded the People’s Choice Design Award in Honor of Barbara Bruce, a previous chair of the show.  Working with North East Expos since 1982, the Federation’s involvement has continually grown.  Not only do Federated Landscape Consultants judge the landscape displays in the main Connecticut Flower and Garden Show, Connecticut Garden Club members present seminars on floral design and gardening.

The Show Chair, working closely with a committee of more than 30, spends countless hours, over the course of a year, to plan all details of the show from the Theme, Schedule, and Creative Staging down to the floor plan and even how many gallons of paint are needed for the staging pedestals.

Plan to enter the show by creating a design, bringing your houseplants or photographs, or something in many of the other classes in the show.  The show schedule, with complete details of when what and how to enter will be posted here soon.  You can also participate as a host in the Hospitality Room.  For details e-mail volunteers@ctgardenclubs.org.
