Fall Field Trip @ Hollister House Gardens
Oct 3 @ 11:00 am

Charlotte Massey and I have put together the first Field Trip of the 2023-2024 WHGC year for Tuesday, October 3, with a guided Tour at 11 am at Hollister House Gardens, 300 Nettleton Hollow Road, Washington, CT. The tour will last an hour to an hour and a half of the Gardens and House. Cost is $15 per member.

Please make your check out to West Hartford Garden Club and mail to Billie Reese or Charlotte Massey.  Deadline to sign up is September 15. We plan to carpool. RSVP to our emails, billie.reese@cbmoves.com and charmassie@yahoo.com. When you RSVP, please indicate if you would be willing to drive and how many passengers you can take. Ideally, we’d like no more than 4 people per car.

Lunch will be after the tour, at The White Horse Tavern, Route 202, New Preston, CT, a fifteen-minute drive.  We will be ordering off the menu.

See below, description of Hollister House

“Beautifully situated on a sloping, terraced site in the rolling hills of Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut, Hollister House Garden is an American interpretation of such classic English gardens as Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and Hidcote, formal in its structure but informal and rather wild in its style of planting.”

Happy Gardening!
