“The Storybook Garden” at the 2026 Signs of Spring Connecticut Flower and Garden Show
Under the leadership of President Susan Lindberg, The West Hartford Garden Club team (Sheila Daley, Suzanne Miller, Sharon Mulvey, Sarah Townswick, and Roxanne Witmer-DeWitt) presented an exceptional floral floor design entitled “Happy Endings – Beauty and the Beast” at the 2026 Connecticut Flower and Garden Show. The exhibit received Third Prize, the Northeast Expos Award, and was also honored with the Barbara Bruce Peoples’ Choice Award, recognizing it as one of the most admired displays of the event.

Tribute Award in Conservation
Awarded to Beth Ann Sennett for her work on the Spicebush Swamp Park restoration, the Seed Library collaboration, and native-plant projects at Wolcott Park.
Arboreal Award (extra-large club)
Awarded to West Hartford Garden Club.
Conservation Award
Awarded to West Hartford Garden Club for excellence in conservation.

Awarded to Beth Ann Sennett and Susan Grew for developing a pollination presentation and workshop for middle school students.
Club Certificate of Achievement – Civic Development
Awarded to West Hartford Garden Club for expanding the free Seed Library.
The club distributed over 10,000 seed packets in March 2025, a 49 percent increase from the previous year.
The project included adding a new Seed Starting Class to the library’s Gardening How-to series and increasing seed packet availability at all library branches.
Certificate of Individual Appreciation – Historic, Memorial, and Public Gardens
Awarded to Linda Aldrich for her 10 years of service as co-chair of the Butler-McCook Historic Garden Committee.
