CANCELED DUE TO THE WEATHER BEING RAINY AND COLD. THIS WILL BE RESCHEDUED AT A LATER DATE.
If you are interested, please text, email, or call Beth Ann so that she can plan accordingly. She will have handouts, and guided instruction will be provided. Many of you joined us last year, so you will need only a little review. More information will follow soon about best attire, gear to bring, and more.
As you know, invasive plants are non-native species that spread aggressively in natural areas. Invasive plants have replaced native species in many different habitats in Connecticut. When native plants are displaced in the landscape, the diversity of native birds, insects, other animals, and plants may be decreased and ecosystem functions may suffer.
On the new date, we will focus on cutting Oriental Bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus), Japanese Barberry (Berberis thunbergii) (or pull if it is small), and Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora) to the soil level. We will pull Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata).
We have two more invasive plant removal parties on the calendar for July 15, 2023 and November 4, 2023, also from 9 am – 12 noon.
