With a small team\, the work\nshould go quickly\, and we may even have time to pull a few weeds by\nthe Oakwood Avenue entrance to the Charter Oak International Academy\n(COIA) as well. \nWhat to bring: \nGardening hat & gloves \nKnee pad (if you use one) \nWater bottle \nLeaf bag for debris \nTools you might want to use to pull any larger weeds \nI’ll also bring paper bags for collecting seeds from the gardens.\nThese will support our Seed Saving/Seed Sharing event at Noah Webster\nPublic Library\, the Winter Sowing program in January\, and the Seed\nLibrary. If you’ve already been gathering seeds for our club’s\noutreach\, feel free to bring them so I can set them aside.

DESCRIPTION:Save the Date: 9/11/25\, 8:30 am – 1:30 pm (with a break for lunch) \nAs of last Friday\, the Town of West Hartford officially has\nschool-campus pollinator gardens as a part of our school curriculum! \nZachary Potter-Vose\, who has been working hard as part of a board of education project to establish the\nnew town-wide 3rd grade outdoor curriculum\, is planting perennials to make improvements at four elementary schools in town. He plans to spend about 1 hour at each school to plant about a dozen plants in the established garden beds at each school\, adding a light mulch cover\, and watering. The Tour (10:30 am to 11:30 am) with refreshments following. \nThis Historic House Tour is limited to 20 guests\, due to it’s limited space. DESCRIPTION:Will be in the Community Room at the Woodland Condos.\, which is at 31 Woodland Street\, Hartford.  People can park on the street but there  is a small guest parking lot in the front of the building. There  is a large parking lot behind the building which is accessed by a driveway on the north side of the building. Whoever parks behind the building would need to walk to the front of the building to register with the security guard at the front desk. The Community Room is on the M level below the first floor. There are elevators. \nI suggest that people carpool and let their passengers off at the front door before parking.

Public Works delivered topsoil last week\, and the final plants arrived yesterday. \nWhat we’ll do: \nInstall native plantings around the Whale Tail \nWater in\, mulch\, and tidy the site \nHelpful to bring (if you have them)\nGloves\, trowels\, insect repellent\, hats.
